The weather was perfect and it was lovely to see Dronfield enjoying our annual community event.

'A crown fit for a Queen' competition winners - Over 6's
It took careful consideration to choose a winner in the Over 6's category (with the standard being so high!) but the mayor finally chose three dazzling crowns.
The winners of the Over 6's are:

Third Place - Eva

The Winners of the A crown fit for a Queen competition were announced at the Dronfield Platinum Jubilee Gala on Sunday 26th of June in Gosforth Lodge, with the town mayor Councillor Lillian Deighton in attendance.

Dronfield Woodhouse tennis courts open
Town Councillors have been delighted to see the refurbishment of Dronfield Woodhouse tennis courts.
The two new, high quality , competitive standard courts are finished in a hard-wearing surface to match three courts at Cliffe Park and two at Coal Aston.

Showing of the Queens 1953 Coronation - Dronfield Civic Hall
This year the Queen will become the first British monarch ever to celebrate 70 years on the throne. To mark such a momentous occasion Dronfield Town Council will be showing the feature-length Technicolor recording of the Coronation.

Lighting of the Beacon Ceremony
Dronfield Town Council invite all the residents of Dronfield and surrounding areas to come along and celebrate the lighting of the beacon together at Sindelfingen Park.
The event will be part of a country-wide celebration in which 1,500 beacons will be lit in recognition of the Queen's service, bringing communities across the globe together to pay tribute.
