The Council has received a gritting committee report confirming that Dronfield is prepared for the winter ahead.

Grit bins belonging to the Town Council have been replaced, repaired, turned over and filled. An order has been placed for a further 10 tonnes from Derbyshire County Council to bring our local storage to a full capacity. This enables Town Council staff to refill bins as grit is used. A number of bins are also used as spares should others be damaged. Several bins requiring attention, belonging to the County Council, have been reported.

Coun Kevin Tait commented: 'Residents can report gritting or grit bin issues directly to the council or their local councillor. Keeping Dronfield on the move and residents safe this winter is our priority.'

A request was received to install a new grit bin at Greendale shops. Permission to install has been requested from NE Derbyshire District Council, owners of the land.
