Dronfield Library Opening Hours to Change from 30th September

Please note that from Monday 30th September the opening hours of Dronfield Library will be changing to the following;

Monday 9:30am - 7:00pm
Tuesday 9:30am - 5:00pm
Wednesday 9:30am - 5:00pm
Thursday 9:30am - 5:00pm
Friday 9:30am - 5:00pm
Saturday 9:30am - 4:00pm

The library will be opening at 9:30am each day and will remain open late one night a week on a Monday, but will be closing at 5pm all other week... Read More »

Temporary Road Closure Notification

Temporary Road Closure Notification

Derbyshire County Council have ordered a temporary road closure of the B6056 Stubley Hollow from the junction with Sheffield Road to the junction with Wreakes Lane from the 28th October to 2nd November between 8:00pm and 4:00am each night to facilitate rail bridge repair works by Network Rail.

Dronfest's 20th Anniversary this weekend

Dronfest has become an annual highlight in the Dronfield calendar of events. In this, it's 20th year, Dronfest will return to Cliffe Park, Callywhite Lane in Dronfield with 2 stages of great music, along with the usual complement of food stalls, bars and entertainment.

People’s Postcode Lottery Trusts Open for Funding Applications

Local charities and community groups are being encouraged to apply for funding from a pot of over £3 million that has been raised by players of the People's Postcode Lottery.

Volunteers needed to develop a community garden

To celebrate Sainsbury's 150 years employees have been asked to generate ideas to help put something back into the local community they are based in. Local Argos Team Leader, Joanne Tanner, has developed the idea of a community garden and has secured an area of land to develop. She believes gardening is a great way to bring together the older and younger generations within Dronfield.

Fantastic turnout at annual Gala

Yesterday's, Dronfield Gala was another great family day out. Thousand's flocked to Cliffe Park in the sunshine to enjoy a variety of fairground rides, stalls and entertainment - provided by Dronfield Genquip Brass Band, Dance Dronfield and Dronfield Wado-Ryu Karate.

Defibrillator numbers increase again

Defibrillator numbers increase again

A new defibrillator has been installed at the Dronfield Sports & Social Club on Carr Lane in Dronfield Woodhouse. This follows a campaign undertaken by the Dronfield Boys FC U16 club who play at the ground.

The defibrillator has been part funded by Dronfield Town Council and Derbyshire County Council and is available for all users of the recreation ground to access.
