Stalls are now available to book for the Christmas Fest, taking place on Friday 29th November at the Civic Hall between 4pm and 8pm.

There will be free craft activities for the children and children will also be able to visit Santa, plus there will be a fairground outside in the car park too.

Temporary Road Closure - Stubley Hollow / Wreakes Lane / Sheffield Rd Junction

Derbyshire County Council have ordered a temporary road closure of the B6056 Stubley Hollow from the junction with Sheffield Road to the junction with Wreakes Lane from the 28th October to 2nd November between 8:00pm and 4:00am each night to facilitate rail bridge repair works by Network Rail.

Dronfield Town Council is launching the first stage of its new tree planting project.

In partnership with Ferndale Garden Centre, 20 trees will be gifted this autumn to residents who have recently moved to the town or who have recently moved within the town.

Town Council declares a climate emergency

At their September meeting, Dronfield Town Council declared a climate emergency and resolved to take action, to the best of its ability, to help towards achieving a shift to zero carbon emissions by 2050, or sooner if possible.

Dronfield Parish Young Voices have something to sing about

Dronfield Parish Young Voices was launched in January 2019 and now regularly attracts 35 or more youngsters to the singing sessions on Monday evenings in the Dronfield Civic Hall. Children from nine different schools in the local area attend and range in age from 7 to 12 years.

Parents of year 6 pupils living in Derbyshire can now apply to Derbyshire County Council for their child's secondary school place for September 2020.

Around 8,500 year 6 primary school children – who were born between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2009 – have been sent information about the application process.
