Dronfield Town Council received reports from Derbyshire County Council of new traffic regulation orders to come into force in and around Dronfield.

80th Anniversary of D-Day Event

80th Anniversary of D-Day Event - Thursday 6th June 2024

A beacon lighting ceremony will take place to mark the 80th Anniversary of D-Day on Thursday 6th June 2024, at Sindelfingen Park in Dronfield. The service will begin promptly at 9:00pm, so we encourage residents to arrive at 8:50pm. Local musician Keith Burkitt will be playing music from the era for the duration of the event.

New Mayor of Dronfield

New Mayor of Dronfield

Councillor Pam Jones was elected as the new Town Mayor for 2024/25 at the Annual Dronfield Town Council Meeting.

The Mayoral Chain of Office was presented to Pam by her predecessor, Councillor Susan Burkitt, who will continue to serve as Deputy Mayor.

Dronfield Town Council has agreed to the creation of a Community Orchard, which will be located on a small section of land located between Poplar Close, Chestnut Close, Highgate Drive and Greenacres Close.

Dronfield Parish Church Clock

The Dronfield Parish Church Clock is currently displaying the incorrect time, due to birds nesting in the clock mechanism. We are not undertaking any immediate maintenance, so that the nesting birds are not disturbed. At the end of the nesting season, the clock will be serviced and returned to accurate timekeeping.
