Derbyshire County Council announce £1 million to support people affected by coronavirus

Derbyshire County Council have set aside £1 million worth of funding to support residents and businesses who may be affected by coronavirus.

County Council Leader, Councillor Barry Lewis, announced the £1 million fund to complement the government support announced in the budget and said it was an initial amount and could rise, depending on how seriously the virus affected the county.

Dronfield Town Council are looking for volunteers to join the Community Speedwatch team, who work with the police to help keep streets safer.

The aims of the local speedwatch scheme are;

- Reduce death and injury on the road

Following the first stage of Dronfield Town Council's tree planting project, the Council is now opening up applications to all Dronfield residents.

In partnership with Ferndale Garden Centre, a total of 20 trees will be gifted this winter to residents within the town.
