Dronfield Woodhouse Sports & Social Club Statement – 20th November 2023

Dronfield Town Council have today (20th November 2023) as landlords, taken back possession of Dronfield Woodhouse Sports & Social Club following a forfeiture of the leases by the Club.

The Sports & Social Club were served with Notices under Section 146 of the Law of Property Act 1925 in relation to breaches surrounding failure to pay rent, failure to insure, failure to repair fire doors and failure to occupy. Since service of the Notices, no steps at all have been taken to remedy these breaches or to give the Council a timeframe when the breaches would be remedied.

The Council were therefore left no choice but to re-enter the premises peaceably to ensure the security and safety of the building and enable insurance to be put in place.

The building will remain closed while the Council decide on the future of the property.

Any individuals wishing to collect property from the Club are asked to contact the current Club Chairman or Secretary to make further arrangements.
