Fireworks Party Event at Dronfield Woodhouse Sports & Social Club - Statement

The Town Council is aware of the fireworks event advertised to be held at Dronfield Woodhouse Sports & Social Club on Saturday 4th November 2023.

The Town Council would like to make it clear that it has not received any information in relation to this event and has therefore not seen any copies of public liability insurance for the Club or event, a risk assessment including number of attendees, first aid arrangements or any logistical information about where the fireworks will be set off from and by whom.

As already previously publicised in a statement issued in 22nd September, the Town Council have not granted permission for the Great Fire of Dronfield to take place this year due to safety concerns. Those concerns have not been addressed by the Club in the organisation of the event they are now publicising.

The Town Council would therefore like to make it clear that it has not granted permission for the fireworks event on 4th November at the Dronfield Woodhouse Sports & Social Club, which is therefore being held without the consent of the Council. We have asked the club to reconsider holding the event. The Town Council would therefore advise against attending this event on the grounds of ongoing safety concerns.
