Coronation Tree Planting

Coronation Tree Planting

On Saturday, 6th May, Dronfield Town Councillors planted an oak tree in Jubilee Park, in celebration and commemoration of the coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The event was made even more special by featuring the spade which had been used to plant the tree in the library gardens in Dronfield in 1953 for the coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II, 70 years previously.

The tree planning was attended by several members of the public, as well as councillors.

It is hoped the tree will continue to grow over the coming years and can be enjoyed by local residents for many years to come.

Coun Lilian Deighton, who was Mayor at the time, planted the tree on behalf of the Town Council.
