Highway maintenance and road resurfacing

Resurfacing works have continued at a pace through the summer with many roads throughout the town being resurfaced or redressed.

Where possible, much of the works have been carried out at off-peak times to reduce inconvenience to residents. Inevitably the full resurfacing of roads has also meant the temporary closure of highways with diversions put in place.

This is set to continue as many more roads and pavements are included over the coming months.

The capital investment of £58million across Derbyshire is from April 2022 to March 2023.

Resurfacing of Greenacres Close, Soaper Lane, Cecil Avenue, Cruck Close, Stubley Croft and Stubley Drive will take place in August.

Town Council leader, Coun Angelique Foster, commented: "The huge investment into Dronfield's roads alone is £1.27m this year and the second year of a £120m county-wide capital programme. This will deliver the safe, well maintained roads that residents expect of our road network."

Access will be maintained, wherever reasonably possible, on the affected lengths of road.
