Support For Ukraine – Dronfield Town Council
There have been a number of requests concerning the donation of items toward the needs of those who are suffering due to the horrific events in Ukraine.
The best current Government advice is to donate to the Disasters Emergency Committee Appeal (DEC) via the website www.dec.org.uk.
The DEC is co-ordinating the efforts of 15 agencies to help people who have fled Ukraine or been displaced to other parts of the country, following the invasion by Russia. The organisations involved know the situation on the ground and are able to source exactly what is needed.
DEC charities in Ukraine and neighbouring countries are meeting the needs of all refugees and displaced people, providing food, water, shelter, and medical assistance.
£30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month.
£50 could provide blankets for four families.
£100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month.
For more information and to make a donation to the DEC, please visit www.dec.org.uk.
Donating Items
Following requests for donated items to help the people of Ukraine, many drop-off points in our local area have been overwhelmed with the response.
As a result, people are now being encouraged to make donations directly to the DEC, as detailed above. However, below is a link to the Derbyshire Times, which provides a rolling update on how Derbyshire residents can help the people of Ukraine. The page will be updated, including links to local drop off points, as and when they are set up again.
