Town Council support Santa's Sleigh

Rotary in Dronfield have organised Santa's Sleigh in S18 for over 25 years. In that time the money raised has been used to support many local projects.

This year Covid 19 and the placing of Dronfield in Tier 3 means that the Sleigh cannot operate in the normal way.

Rotary and Dronfield Town Council – who are sponsoring the Sleigh this year - have met to agree how Santa can still visit the children of Dronfield and have put the following plans in place.

The Sleigh will travel round the streets of Dronfield on six nights;

15/12 – Snape Hill area
16/12- Dronfield W'House
17/12 -Gosforth Valley
18/12 Unstone
21/12 – Holmesdale & Coal Aston
22/12- Hilltop & Hallowes.

It will travel at the slowest possible speed but will not stop anywhere.

We are sorry that the children will not be able to have a personal chat with Santa or receive the usual gift of sweets.

Families are asked to stay in their own groups in their gardens or at the end of their drives and that they do not mix with neighbours – to comply with the Tier 3 restrictions.

There will be no donations in buckets this year but residents are being asked to support Rotary's Charitable work in S18 by donating through their DONR Text number or QR code.

Santa is looking forward to seeing you all. Stay safe and well.
