About Alex

  • Lives locally in Unstone with his wife Amy, but born and raised in rural North Lincolnshire as the son of a farmer and a teacher
  • Studied History at the University of York, achieving a Masters degree whilst there
  • Works for a Derbyshire MP as a Constituency Caseworker, with solid experience of helping people to resolve local issues as they arise
  • Founder member of the Bus Improvement Group for Coal Aston and Dronfield, aiming to enhance the regularity of local bus services in our area
  • Passionate about protecting our Green Belt and will resist any attempts to merge Coal Aston with Sheffield

Council Roles

  • Dronfield Town Councillor for Coal Aston East, elected in May 2015 and elected for the Dronfield Dyche Ward in 2019
  • On Dronfield Town Council, Alex serves on the Standing Orders Committee and the Neighbourhood Plan/Local Plan Steering Group plus he sits as a representative on Coal Aston Bowls Pavilion Management Committee and Dronfield Henry Fanshawe Education Foundation
  • North East Derbyshire District Councillor for Coal Aston, elected in May 2015
  • Alex is now Leader of the North East Derbyshire District Council
