Flood Risk And Resilience Events

From The Environmental Agency:

Flood risk and resilience public drop-in events – one week to go!

Is your community at risk of flooding?

Next week the Environment Agency is hosting two public drop-in events alongside our partners, focussing on flood risk and resilience:

Tuesday 13th January between 2-6pm

Bradwell War Memorial Hall, Netherside, Bradwell, S33 9JL

Wednesday 14th January between 2-6pm

Belper Town Football Club, Raygar Stadium, Bridge Street, Belper, DE56 1BA

Event purpose

The events will provide members of the public the opportunity to speak to various flood risk management authorities and organisations to better understand their flood risk, find out what is being done to mitigate flood risk, and learn about how they can improve their personal resilience to flooding.

Organisations attending the events include:

  • Environment Agency
  • Derbyshire County Council
  • Severn Trent Water
  • Flood Mary and the Flood Mobile
  • Derbyshire Wildlife Trust
  • Moors for the Future
  • Derbyshire Dales District Council (Bradwell only)
  • Amber Valley Borough Council (Belper only)
  • Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service (Bradwell only)

If you haven't yet met Flood Mary or seen the Flood Mobile, please don't miss this opportunity. Flood Mary offers excellent practical, independent flood resilience and recovery advice, and has lived experience of property flooding. The Flood Mobile showcases practical Property Flood Resilience (PFR) products which can be used to protect homes and belongings. Please click on the links for more information.
