Caring for town's trees

The Town Council maintains a wide variety of green spaces across our community, from parks and small woodlands to open spaces.

These areas not only enhance the town but also support biodiversity and provide valuable recreational spaces for residents and visitors alike.

Councillor Mark Foster says: "With thousands of trees under the Town Council's care, ensuring their health and safety is a key priority. Over the coming months, we will be conducting comprehensive tree surveys across all land that we own or maintain. These surveys will assess the condition of each tree, identify any potential risks, and help us plan for future maintenance."

Following the surveys, any recommended works - such as pruning, disease management or removal of unsafe trees - will be carefully considered and scheduled as needed.

We appreciate your support and understanding as this important work gets underway. If you have any questions or concerns about trees in your area, please don't hesitate to contact the Town Council.
