120 attend Local Plan public meeting
On 23rd July, town councillors hosted a public meeting at the Civic Hall, attended by around 120 local residents, to help raise awareness regarding the new Local Plan.
Following the District Council's Call for Sites' towards the end of 2024, many parcels of land within the green belt have been put forward as potential housing, employment, traveller or biodiversity sites, which now need to undergo further examination.
Coun Alex Dale said: "A big thank you to everyone who came along to the public meeting at Dronfield Civic Hall. We had a fantastic turnout and there were lots of thoughtful questions and concerns raised about the proposals and consultation process.
"The 'Issues and Options`consultation run by NE Derbyshire District Council has recently closed and thank you to everyone who took part.
"There will be future opportunities for further public consultation over the next 18 months-or-so and we will do everything we can to ensure residents are aware and equipped with the information they need to make voices heard."
