New Puffin Crossing For Green Lane

New Puffin Crossing For Green Lane

AFTER a councillor-led campaign spanning several years, Dronfield Town Council was delighted with news of the £120k allocation in this years Derbyshire County Council's Highways Capital budget for a new Puffin crossing near Hartington Road's junction on Green Lane.

The decision to provide Puffin crossings is based upon criteria relating to the number of pedestrians crossing the road and the volume of vehicles using it. This ensures that crossings are located where there is the greatest demand and where they will provide the most road safety benefit.

Cllr Anthony Hutchinson commented: "This result is a perfect example of councillors delivering for their local residents. We have campaigned for this for a long time. The new crossing will improve road safety for the schoolchildren at one of the busiest crossing points in our town. I'd like to thank the road safety committee and county councillors whose hard work and commitment made this happen."
