School crossing patrol vacancies
Councillors have discussed road safety concerns on Carr Lane, including the vacant School Crossing Patrol positions.
School Crossing Patrols are the responsibility of Derbyshire County Council, who are looking to fill two vacancies in Dronfield, including at the Carr Lane location, which was filled until January 2025, and at the junction of Green Lane and The Avenue.
Chair of the Road Safety Committee, Councillor Marie Ireland, said: "As a council, we are committed to doing everything we can to help improve road safety in our town and our SCPs provide a vital service in keeping children safe on their journey to and from school each day."
Dronfield Town Council hope to enlist the help of residents to spread the word and attract people living in the area to the positions. These are great opportunities for people who want to be involved in their local communities and will make a real difference to the people living there.
No formal qualifications or experience is necessary, and full training will be provided. The average hours would be between five and eight hours per week at a rate of £12 hour. For further details, please contact Derbyshire County Council via email: jobs@derbyshire.gov.uk
