Derbyshire County Council announce £1 million to support people affected by coronavirus

Derbyshire County Council have set aside £1 million worth of funding to support residents and businesses who may be affected by coronavirus.

County Council Leader, Councillor Barry Lewis, announced the £1 million fund to complement the government support announced in the budget and said it was an initial amount and could rise, depending on how seriously the virus affected the county.

Become a Community Speedwatch volunteer

Dronfield Town Council are looking for volunteers to join the Community Speedwatch team, who work with the police to help keep streets safer.

The aims of the local speedwatch scheme are;

- Reduce death and injury on the road
- improve the quality of life for local communities
- Reduce the speed of vehicles to the speed limit
- Increase public awareness of inappropriate speed

Availability on the MUGA pitch at Cliffe Park

A number of slots have become available for the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) at Cliffe Park. The pitch is ideal for football teams and has flood lighting for the winter months.

There are currently the following times available each day;

Mondays - 8pm to 9pm and 9pm to 10pm
Tuesdays - no availability
Wednesdays - 7pm to 8pm
Thursdays - no availability
Friday - 6pm to 7pm and 8pm to 9pm
