Dronfield Live presents Hannah Aldridge and The Goat Roper Rodeo Band

Dronfield Live presents Hannah Aldridge and The Goat Roper Rodeo Band

Tue, 2 Jul 2019 19:00

An Americana double bill, featuring Hannah Aldridge and The Goat Roper Rodeo Band. Hannah is originally from Alabama but now lives in and plays the circuits of Nashville. Americana UK describe her as "a veritable star in the making" and the Daily Record say she "could fill a room with her own electricity".

Mixing her personal life and the sounds of her hometown, Hannah Aldridge's new album also draws in influences from across the rock genre. With one foot in country music and one foot in rock, Hannah makes a fresh kind of Southern rock and has put together a progressive, creative and memorable body of work.

With just an upright bass, two old guitars and a bucketful of aching harmony, The Goat Roper Rodeo Band are preaching country blues like you never hear. It's up, it's down, it's soft and loud, it's dark and lonesome too, there's hurt and shame and some mean old pain but there's love in what they do! There's a hint of Gram, a sniff of Dylan and a twist of Waylon's blues. Simply put, it's exactly what it says on the tin – and they are described as "amazing" by BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris.

Tickets are £12.50 and are available on the door.

Doors open at 7pm with Show at 7:45pm
