Derbyshire moved into tier four

Derbyshire moved into tier four

The whole of Derbyshire, including Dronfield, has now been moved in to tier 4 restrictions following the fortnightly review of the COVID levels which has seen the county placed in the tougher new alert level advising people to 'stay at home'.

As well as continuing to wash hands regularly, stay apart and wear a face covering unless exempt, the restrictions mean:

Care at Christmas Appeal - Gosforth Lodge Donation Point

North East Derbyshire District Council, together with its housing partner Rykneld Homes, has launched its Care at Christmas Appeal to provide a surprise festive gift to residents in Care Homes.

Town Council support Santa's Sleigh

Rotary in Dronfield have organised Santa's Sleigh in S18 for over 25 years. In that time the money raised has been used to support many local projects.

This year Covid 19 and the placing of Dronfield in Tier 3 means that the Sleigh cannot operate in the normal way.

At the beginning of November, the District Council launched a consultation process on the Main Modifications proposed on the North East Derbyshire Local Plan. The Local Plan, amongst other things, says where houses will be built within Dronfield over the coming years.

Christmas in Dronfield

Christmas is coming to Dronfield this year.

Although there will be no event taking place for the Christmas Light Switch-on and despite the national restrictions that are currently in place to slow the spread of COVID-19, the Town Council will be installing and lighting extra large Christmas Trees around town, in addition to the one outside the Library.

Remembrance Day Service to be streamed via Facebook

A Remembrance Service will be taking place at the War Memorial on Sunday with a small number of invited attendees only permitted to attend.
