Police Matters
Due to other duties, no police office was
in attendance for this meeting and no crime statistics had been received for
circulation. Councillor Brader produced a schedule of crime statistics from the
police website which was informative and showed that Dronfield has a relatively
low crime rate when compared to other areas.

Council Minutes
Members considered the minutes of the
ordinary meeting of Dronfield Town Council held on 8th January
together with all the appendices (Pages 71 – 81)

accepted as a true record of events and that the Town Mayor be duly authorised
to sign them as such.
Planning Matters
Councillors T Furniss,
F Higgins and S Temple left the meeting at this point so did not therefore comment upon
any applications for consideration by Members.
Planning Applications
Members considered a schedule of planning
applications submitted by North East Derbyshire District Council for comment.
167. RESOLVED
That Application
07/000016/FL by Sainsburys Ltd. Section 73 application for
continued use of the development without complying with condition 11 (hours of
delivery) on planning permission reference NED/397/198 be objected to as
members would not wish to allow unrestricted access by heavy goods vehicles at
all times of the day and night. The
condition of delivery hours was imposed such that neighbouring and adjacent residential
dwellers were not subject to noise pollution at unsocial hours.

RESOLVED
That application 07/00086/TPO by Mr I
Collins of Green Lane for the felling of 4 trees and pruning of trees covered
by NED TPO 10 on land adjacent be strongly objected to
and NEDDC be informed that this Councils Policy states that only dangerous or
diseased trees should be given consent for felling.

That application
07/00096/CATPO by Mr Western of Stone Road –
Notification of intention to fell one conifer within Coal Aston Conservation
Area, be objected to unless the tree in question is in a dangerous or diseased
state.

District Council submitted for information.

The Barn High Street
Members were
informed of certain difficulties being faced by the Peel Centre Trustees
regarding acceptable safe access to the site, which may be subject to a
planning application in the near future.

That this Council
would await sight of any future planning application and then invite the Peel
Centre Trustees to attend and speak in support of such application.
Vandalism – Lea Brook Valley
Members were
informed of recent vandalism at Lea Brook Valley and
also that PC Murfin had contacted the Town Council
stating that the installation of streetlights had exacerbated the problem along
these pathways. He requested that these
streetlights be extinguished.

RESOLVED
That Inspector Mark
Fitzpatrick be invited to a meeting of the Properties Working Group and, asked
for the police services official views on the benefits/disbenefits
of installing street lighting for safer and securer routes to school for
scholars.
Code of
Conduct for Local Authority Members.
Members considered
a report of the Standard Board for England
outlining proposed changes to the Code of Conduct for Local Authority Members
following a substantial consultation exercise.
Many of the proposals are a direct response to those consultations and
seek to clarify one or two ambiguous matters.

Dates of Council
Meetings (2006/2007)
Members considered an amended schedule of Town Council meetings for
this current civic year.

RESOLVED
That the cycle of Council meetings be amended such that the meeting scheduled for Monday 2nd April 2007 be brought forward by one week to Monday 26th March 2007 and that an additional meeting be scheduled for Monday 30th April
2007.
This meeting will be the last meeting of the Council prior to elections
on Thursday 3rd
May 2007 and the Annual Meeting will be Monday 14th May 2007 at 7.30pm.
