Gosforth Lodge in Cliffe Park

The map reference refers to the Dronfield Map.

This new community building is located in Cliffe Park on Callywhite Lane (Map Ref F4). The Lodge was rebuilt by Dronfield Town Council at a cost of over £350,000 and opened by the Town Mayor in May 2003. The large Main Hall can seat up to 130 people and is fitted with a top quality sound system together with a loop system for the hard of hearing. Attached to the Main Hall is a fully fitted catering kitchen complete with a double oven, hot water boiler, fridge-freezer and a plentiful supply of crockery and cutlery for that special party or event.

Also included in the new building is a well equipped tea room which doubles as an internet cafe and youth room. This room is ideal for family use if the weather suddenly changes and means there is now somewhere to escape the rain and enjoy a refreshing hot or cold drink and a snack. This room also has a pool table, a bar soccer game and video games. The five computer workstations, all with ultra fast broadband internet connection, are available subject to user registration and login plus a small reasonable charge for their use. This computer facility was partly funded by The East Midlands Development Agency and operates in close collaboration with our community partner of Dronfield School which recently received specialist status and was designated a technology college. The school's advice and expertise was instrumental in setting up this initiative.

The shop is now an integral part of the Lodge and is open until 10pm from Sunday to Friday of every week, selling a wide selection of hot and cold drinks, hot and cold snacks and refreshments together with ice creams. lollipops and toys suitable for kiddies to use in the park.

Gosforth Lodge is fully accessible for residents and guests with mobility problems.

The Main Hall is available for parties, events and functions.
