Dronfield has ten primary schools. Secondary education is provided by the Dronfield School, (The Henry Fanshawe School is situated in Chesterfield Road/ Green Lane.This fine old building which was formerly the Grammar School) offers scholars an excellent all round education. The Dronfield School was recently awarded specialist status in "Information Technology".Parents who have only recently moved into the District should notify head teachers of the schools they would like their children to attend, and of the dates of birth of any children who are or will shortly be of school age.
